YACHT CHARTER - ANTIGUA - 10 DAYS

Possible Yacht Charter Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival.

Your flight arrives in Antigua, and a short taxi ride brings you to English Harbor to meet the yacht.

Nelson’s Dockyard in English Harbor is a very romantic and quiet location, with a lovely garden like setting leading up to the waterfront. The whole of Nelson’s Dockyard has been beautifully reconstructed to house hotels restaurants and small business. It is an outstanding historic monument. You haven’t been to the Caribbean until you’ve had a drink at the Admiral’s Inn in Nelson’s Dockyard.

Day 2

In the early morning we leave for a short one hour trip to Green Island. Green Island is unspoiled by buildings; there is an abundance of bird life, including red billed tropic birds. But most importantly it has small but stunning white beaches with shallow crystal clear water in both Ricket and Tenpound bay. The captain will take the kids on a snorkeling hunt for Lion fish. You can even go for a walk up onto the island and look out and over the Atlantic Ocean. I suggest that we spend the night here.

Day 3

A short cruise in the early hours of the morning, while you sleep, takes us to anchor in Tamarind Bay in Nevis, where you find the famous Nevis’s Four Seasons hotel, in fact we will be anchored just off of it.

In this beautiful setting with the volcano rising up into the clouds, this is where you will awake to another day of fun in the sun.

On the beach is the famous “Smiley’s beach bar” and another great attraction in Nevis is the Golden Rock Estate. This was built in 1815 as a sugar plantation, on the edge of the rain forest. It has been run for 27 years by Pam Barry who actively encourages eco – tourism with educational hikes and tours. Some of the walks thru the rainforest are short and quite comfortable for the less energetic while others take you up to the top of Nevis.

In the late morning we will take a slow cruise over to St Kitts to arrive before lunch. And anchor in Ballast Bay.

Here we can go on a Brownies diving adventure on the hunt for Eagle Rays, Puffer fish and Blue Tangs.

After lunch we will take a quick ride in the Jupiter and drop you all off at the Monkey Bar where Basil your personal tour guide will take you to the Brimstone Hill Fortress and National Park. Brimstone Hill has a wonderful old strategically placed fort which is a lasting monument to the old enmity between the British and the French. It has been painstakingly restored.

Basil is a great guide and has extensive knowledge about all things in St Kitts, I strongly recommend his services, I will arrange Basil’s friend to follow in a second taxi.

After dinner all the adults can go to South Friar beach by tender for the
Full Moon party
at the Shipwreck Bar, on the south end of Friars Bay.

A big day out!

Day 4

A short cruise in the early morning ( while you sleep)  to arrive in St Bart’s, we can anchor in Saline Bay where you can spend the day racing around on the jet skies and hanging out on the most awesome white sandy beach.

This is the perfect day to take divers diving at Ile De La Point, where I will take you all on a guided tour through an under water gully round a rock face and onto an under water mountain which is covered with corals and has schools of fish all over it. On this adventure I will also point out the resident Nurse sharks, which make this under Water Mountain their home.

Weigh up anchor by 1500 to make our way over to the dock where we will spend the night, reservations will be made at the Yacht club for after dinner drinks and some partying.

Day 5

We leave in the morning to arrive at the Island of Tintamarre, 2 hours later, on the east coast of St Martin, where before lunch you can all go ashore to be covered in mineral mud and bake in the sun (Compulsory activity!!!!!!).
A great fun day on the beach!

We need to leave in the afternoon to arrive at Anguilla and find a suitable bay to anchor in, we will choose the best for prevailing conditions where we can spend the afternoon.

The day ends with an early dinner and once you are back onboard we depart for the “Fat Virgin”, Virgin Gorda, a overnight trip to the BVI’s.

Day 6

On the dock at the Bitter End Yacht Club, where you can enjoy the tranquility of the Bitter End Resort, while we ( the crew) race the children around on hobbie cats., using the beach right at the bar as our start and stop spot.

In the afternoon at around 1400, I will take everyone on a guided snorkeling trip to the cannons.
A great spot!

Biras Creek up on the hill is an excellent spot to have a cocktail and watch the sunset; we can get there by tender.

Day 7

A fine day to go around to Mountain Point and anchor with a stern line to the shore in crystal clear a flat calm water, a location that gives you the opportunity to really enjoy the Brownies third lung. There is an abundance of soft corals and a variety of fish in this bay. There is a beach for the girls to collect all sorts of shells. From here we can go and scuba dive the point and secret gardens.

After lunch there will be a tender ride to the Baths, which is a huge formation of giant boulders that form pathways, rock pools and caverns. We will make our way through these rocks from Sprat Bay to Stingray Bay.

Day 8

On the dock at Peter Island Resort.

One of the most fabulous resorts with the best beaches around. Arrangements can be made for the ladies to go for massages etc at the health spa.

From here we need to launch the tender to take all the divers diving on the HMS RHONE, one of the most memorable dives you will ever go on. In addition, in the evening at about 1800 we can go and dive the HMS FEARLESS which is an old British mine sweeper all covered in coral, not 3 minutes away from where the boat will be.

In the late afternoon we can go by tender and visit Pirates beach bar and the Willy T.

Day 9

This is a fine sunny morning to recover, and reflect on the sandy cay of Green Island. It is a picture perfect sandy island with three palm trees. After breakfast we take a slow cruise to beef Island where you are escorted to your flight home.
